The other night I woke up to feed Georgie, and I was thinking about something that may sound really silly, but it made me feel soooo unbelievably blessed and special. As I layed there in bed next to my first born son, holding him as he nodded off to sleep, he placed his little hand on my belly. It made me so warm and happy.  Just to know that while I am taking care of my son, I am also growing his brother or sister inside of me. I can’t quite describe the emotions, but when I carry him on my hip, knowing we are expecting #2, it just makes me beam. 

I had another appointment on thursday and I got to hear the heartbeat again, fast and quicker than mine. It was a relief to “hear” it. I am almost 13 weeks along now. My morning sickness has NOT gone away. In fact this morning, I was thinking, “Wow, I feel pretty good today”. And low and behold my morning sickness hit me around 2 o’ clock. So far it has caused me to lose 9 lbs from my last appt a month ago. So, I am trying to keep my weight from dipping more. I am definately eating, but I guess I am just not eating as MUCH as I usually would. But I also remember that I think at the most, I lost two pounds with Georgie around the same time. I wish I could say ONE thing always sounded good to me, but that would be a lie. Not much at all sounds good anymore to me. Except milk, but who can survive off of milk. But, I am sure my appetite and nausea will get better and soon I’ll be back to gaining.

A friend of ours gave us a bag full of girl clothes the other day. I went through them, washed them and have yet to put them away yet. I was shocked when I saw all of the flowers and pink and gingham. Precious of course, but gosh, I hope I don’t try and turn my daughter into a tomboy. I am just not that into princess’ and pink stuff. I’m sorry little baby in my womb. Your mama may have to raise you on baseball and mudpies instead of tea parties and dollies, baby.

But Georgie is a mischievious little guy lately. He is of course on my hip like no other, but he is running now, actually running and getting into everything. It’s quite adorable to see him take corners, too. He is fiesty. He definately has a strong character. He is starting to show a little defiance and we are dealing with that. But he is just such a smart cookie and he is so strong. Today as we watched George rinse out a cooler in the front, I held on to the screen door on the front door, so he wouldn’t go out. He pushed and pushed until he actually opened it a bit. Meanwhile I was holding on with all my strength. I think I gave birth to the hulk. I love him more and more every day. And I miss him as I sit here typing and he out and about with his little cousins and daddy.

Georgie had his first birthday party on September 17th 2009.  We celebrated at home. Grandma and Grandpa bought you balloons, (your current favorite thing) and a musical book, and we bought you a half moon baseball cake for you to dip into.

Earlier that day, you Auntie and I took you out for lunch, (or us to lunch ) and I got to spend a little time with you during my work day.  Prior to that, you had been shopping and had a full day with your Auntie.

So, that night when you dipped into your very first birthday cake, it brought back wonderful memories. All the memories of one year, somehow combined so quickly into what seems like minutes. I was so happy that you were having your first birthday with the people that loved you most.

That weekend was your party, September 19th. We had a HUGE party for you daddy! We had a bouncie, 2 pinatas, grab baggies, inflatable super bats and your Daddy bar-b-qued for all of your family. It was a wonderful night that lasted until the wee hours of the morning. You were a very blessed boy and recieved loads of gifts. You also got to dip into another cake that night. A cake that your Nino and Ruby got you. It was green and by the time you were done with it, you looked like a green HULK! You went to bed around 10:30 that night and I followed shortly after. We fell asleep together in the bed, very similar to our first night a year ago. (Although this time, I wasn’t nervous to change your diaper!)

I love you so much daddy. I am so glad you had a wonderful birthday. Even though you may not understand that ALL of that was for you. We have pictures and memories to look back on. And as long as you had a wonderful day and night, that’s all that matters to me.

I had another ultrasound for bebe #2, which I have decided to name, butterball at this time. I was very nervous going into that appointment, thinking that I would not see a heartbeat, (all the fears my doctor had put into my mind about a possible miscarriage.) But sure enough I saw you, my little butterball. You had grown 4 times what you were the previous week and a half. You were a big round blob, big for 8 weeks. I measured ahead, like I did with your big brother.  And there was the heartbeat. In the 160’s. I started crying out of joy and relief, because I just didn’t know what I would do if I didn’t see a heartbeat.

I was so very happy.

So far, being that I am at 10 1/2 weeks. I have only had boughts of brief morning sickness and food aversions. I have been on pregesterone like I was with Georgie and that is always fun, but I will do what I have to do.

I can’t wait for our next appointment to see our little butterball again!

And we are PREGNANT!

I was very hesitant to do a blog entry about this, but I am going to go ahead and do it. We are excited about it, so I am going to write about it. We found out on August 17th that we are pregnant with our second child. I took two test and they were both positive.

The hard part now is, that I measuring very small for my dates. My OB thinks that my dates are off, and I am hoping that she is correct. I have has two days of blood done and I am anxiously waiting until Monday to find out if they are good results.

I cried this morning over everything. The orders that the dr had written for me had notes on them that said, ” threatened abortion”, meaning a spontaneous misscarriage. It almost broke me. I am hoping that her reasons for writing that, was to speed up my blood work results.

But we are very excited. Very happy to bring another child into this world, so blessed to bring a brother or a sister for Georgie. George and I were “dreaming” about it the other day, and we both commented how we thought Georgie would be a “big helper” and a wonderful, “big brother”.

I think you’d take that job, very seriously, papa.

So, lets all pray, that all is well. And if not, I will accept that maybe now is not the right time for us. But I really hope it is.

To the little bean inside me, growing. I hope you grow little one. I hope I get to be your mama.

Georgie’s birthday is in full-planning mode! We bought all the decorations, thanks to Hazel and we are ready to go. All we need is to buy the chicken and salads and we will be good! 19 more days! I can’t wait to celebrate with you daddy!

We are almost there buddy! One more month and you will be a whole ONE! I can’t believe it. Last year at this time, I was having our shower for you and had ankles that were swollen to the max! I am so excited to celebrate your first birthday, papa!

We have had a busy schedule lately. We’ve been meeting new friends and going places left and right. You finally got to meet you Grand-Aunt Maureen. We had P.F. Changs and you loved the food. Aunt M got you many gifts, an all about me book, “Shhh don’t wake the baby” book and a skipit bib! Now you can match your little skipit doggie!

We went to Downtown Disney to meet Ana and Aiden. We had the best time. We ate at Rainforest Cafe and the thunderstorms scared you a bit. You ate ONE dinosaur chicken tender, but had a blast. We hung out and then went home later in the afternoon, but not before getting some awesome pictures!

Tonight we went to the farmers market with Aimee. We had a blast! You were very content to sit in your stroller and check everything out.  You got to taste some fresh peaches and some baby heirloom tomatoes! You can guess which one you preffered! Mama went off-roading to try and get out of her parking spot and then we went home! You cried the whole way, but when we got home, Grandma had a surprise of a new outfit for you!

It was a nice day, daddy.

You are starting to walk. You have taken probably all together 10 steps within this last week. I can’t believe that you are at that stage now. You no longer are on any purees, you eat grown-up food! Of course you still have your baba, but you are definately loving all the new tastes.

I love you so much daddy! Happy 11 months (in about 3 days!)

This last month has been a nerve-wracking one on your mother. You have been into everything and of course bumps and bruises have come along with that. I have tried to weather it as best as I can, but towards the end of the night, I feel like a frazzled mama.

I know this is what I have in store for myself, having a little boy. I am sure I will have many visits to the ER, but I am just adjusting right now. You are a crazy, stunt-double, dare-devil of a 10 month old. I can’t say I was ever this bold.

But you’re 10 month mark is on friday, daddy. Happy 10 months my Evil Kenievel.  I love all your scrapes and scabbies.

Tonight was such a nice evening with you papa.  We ate dinner, mexican food and we shared rice and beans with you and you loved it.  Then we went outside to water the plants and daddy took you for a stroll in your car. He walked you until you were sleepy and then you fell asleep. Tonight made me think of last year at this time. Every night during the summer I would go outside, water the pumpkins and then splash my belly and legs with water too! You made me so hot! And it was SO hot, too! It’s hard to imagine that was a year ago. And now we have you here with us.

Oh Daddy! You have proven that you are a little firestorm ready to happen! You have taken off. literally. I feel like I am constantly chasing you around! You are standing, almost on your own and you have no problem walking behind your walker. You are growing so fast baby, it makes me want to cry sometimes. I can still see you as a little bundle that we took home 9 months ago.

You are eating and chewing really well now. I don’t have to fear so much that you will, “choke” on everything. You are sleeping in your crib, but for this last week you are doing, “halfers”. Half of the night in your crib and then the other half with us. You just aren’t digging the, “go back to sleep in your own room, thing”.  It is still the most precious thing in the world to me, when you are drunk after a midnight, “snack” and fall asleep on my chest. I love it in more ways than I can explain.

My son is EVERYWHERE. He is crawling, standing up, pulling up, pulling on things, in essence driving this poor mama nuts. I never thought I would say this but I think it was easier when he was a newborn. Okay maybe not. But you know what I mean.

Daddy you are clapping now. We sing the manitas song to you and you clap, you smart cookie. You are chewing bigger chunks now, like bread and cheez-its, (shame on your daddy), you are even holding your baba all by yourself. I hand it to you and you take it from there. You are sleeping in your crib. You have been for 3 weeks now. We transitioned you, first couple weeks in your play pen and then after our smokey bonfire 2 weeks ago, we were forced to have you sleep in your crib. This week you have woken up every night around 3:30-4 for a baba and I have been so exhausted we just co-sleep with you for a couple hours until we all have to wake up.

You went to the beach for the first time 2 weeks ago. You had fun. At first I don’t  think you knew what to make of the sand. You just let it run through you hands. It was very cute. But surprisingly, you slept for most of the day. The pictures I snapped of you were just the few times you were awake. Maybe it was that sea air that made you sleepy. I know it has the same effect on me.  We dipped your toes in the water and you cried. I don’t blame you. It was kind of cold that day. But overall, I think you had a good time buddy.

We decided on a theme for your first birthday. I can’t believe you will be one in THREE months. This is just crazy to me. That will mean that I have been blogging for you for almost 2 years sweetpea. We decided on Baseball. What a surprise. With the help of some very helpful ladies, (you know who you are), these are some ideas.

So, with that we have a theme and a direction. I think it will be an awesome party. I can’t wait.

I had the best Mother’s day ever! I woke up and Georgie was in a great mood. I knew I had to get up early since I was driving out to see my mom. I went out into the living room and there was George, Hazel and my IL’s waiting for me. George had gotten my flowers and also my bird necklace, (which I have been coveting for months now), a sweet card from him and georgie and my sunshine had picked fresh roses for me.  I have to admit that I was a little sleepy when I first saw everything and by the time I left, I was texting everyone, thanking them.

I drove to see my Mom and then when I came back home a few hours later, I was welcomed with a home cooked breakfast!

For the rest of the day we didn’t do much. We hung outside and then bar-b-qued carne asada.

It was a beautiful day.

Georgie is going to be 8 months on Sunday. Tomorrow I am taking him up to the Citrus Park to take pictures of him under the groves. George and I were originally going to get married at the Citrus Park, so it holds a lot of meaning to me. I can’t wait to see his cute little face with the green groves as the background. I am sure I will get some awesome pictures.

Georgie got his first wagon today. A friend of George’s graciously offered us their practically brand new Radio Flyer All Terrain Wagon. George brought it home today and Georgie loved it.

We are planning a beach trip in two weeks. Now we have the perfect wagon to tote him and all our stuff around.

Today I was talking with my friend about gardening. We were talking about how we both used to garden with our Grandparents. I fondly remember gardening with my Grandpa Harold. Although he was my step grandpa, he was the only grandpa that I really knew and he loved me very much. He would sit out in the garden with me and tell me which ones to pick and put in the basket. I picked many carrots in my young life. He would make me weed. I would sit there on the edge of the flower beds and weed until I was blue in my face. I would help him pick up all the roses after he trimmed them. I remember eating tomatoes in the front lawn, throwing rocks, from the cactus hill in the air, (and subsequently getting a fat lip from it) and laying in the drive way on those warm summer and spring days with my Grandpa Harold under the shade of the garage.  I got a little sad when I remembered, the morning that he died, (six weeks after my Grandma Margaret lost her battle to Cancer), my mama had dropped my off at their house, to help him do some weeding.  He never answered the door that day and I had to walk a couple blocks down to the Leukmeyers to get a ride home.  Some of the most memorable moments in my life were with the both of them. I miss the msometimes like they died just yesterday and I long to talk to them somedays, too.  I hope my Grandpa Harold is smiling down on my little garden that I have started.

This morning you were in your stroller waiting patiently for your daddy to come down the hall.  You were looking and looking.  I looked at you. You turned your head to the side and said, “dada”.
